Bastrop County Local Food Action Plan
About the Plan
The Bastrop County Local Food Action Plan was developed by the Bastrop County Local Food Action Partnership, a project initiated by the Texas Center for Local Food, and released in April 2024.
The goal of the plan is to strengthen the capacity and resilience of the local food system in Bastrop County.
The plan aims to facilitate actions that will address six priority Areas of Concern faced by Bastrop County’s food system (pictured at right).

Bastrop County Cares (BCC) is a key partner on the Bastrop County Local Food Action Plan. In 2023, BCC created Bastrop Nourish, a coalition whose mission is to collectively create a healthier, more sustainable, and just food system to improve the lives of people in Bastrop County and surrounding communities.
BCC is leading the three Action Plan Projects shown at right.
